I have been a Unitarian Universalist for about 40 yr, starting at the First Unitarian Church in Providence, RI. My decision to move to Salem, OR and join the faculty at Willamette University in 1998 was in part based on knowing I could participate in a thriving UU community in town. UUCS has been a rich source of lasting friendships and spiritual growth. My service to UUCS includes lots of singing (choir, cantor, special music), the Board of Directors, Nominating Committee, Celebrant, Homilist, Connections Team leader, UUA GA Delegate and Worship Team chair. I am immeasurably grateful to Reverend Rick’s inspiring dedication to UUCS.
I would like to continue on the Nominating Committee (finished Juli Patton’s 3rd yr) to encourage UUCS members to serve on the Board and other leadership positions. This is especially important as we re-evaluate who we are and aspire to be, healthy questions as we seek a new minister.
