Apple, Apple, Pineapple.

David La Duca (West Hills UU Church, Beaverton) will bring an interactive theater production with the theme of “How to treat people who are different.” The play calls for over 20 speaking parts, using people from the congregation. There are parts for adults and children. David brings a puppet show that the kids will do, and an original musical sing-along. This service will provide a fun-filled, lively, positive message for young and the more mature, alike.

The Power Of Memory

Memory has been called the most wonderful ability. While it can be retentive, serviceable, and obedient, it can also sometimes be weak and bewildered; a powerful, ongoing narrative we use to understand and manage our lives. This morning, we reflect on the power of memory both to connect us with the past and to shape who we are in the present.

When ‘it won’t happen to me’ happens

What are the emotional, practical, and spiritual impacts when dealing with a traumatic event and how does it change lives?

A Curious Faith

When Albert Einstein wisely advised, “Never lose a holy curiosity,” he might have been specifically addressing those of us whose response to the really big questions tends toward asking more questions, and to finding satisfaction as much in the quest as in whatever answers we find.

Life at the Improv

Improvisation and Unitarian Universalism have more than a little bit in common. Both require an open mind and the willingness to explore past a pre-determined path, for example. What wondrous possibilities might there be when faith and improvisation intersect?

The Moral Imperative of Health Care For All

From multiple motivations of morality, providing health care for everyone in our state (country) is the right thing to do. (Matthew 22:36-40). The speaker believes that even improvements of ObamaCare do not provide health care for everyone, nor are spiraling costs for are, meds, and medical equipment adequately addressed.
