You can make a donation in a variety of ways: You can send one-time or recurring payments from your financial institution, or send a one-time donation using either the PayPal Giving Fund or the Donate Now button on our website. Each option is described below.

Payments Through your Financial Institution

Most banks and credit unions offer a bill payment service free to their customers. To use this option, you’ll likely have to start with a visit to your institution’s website. You would first set up UUCS as a payee. Information needed to set up a payee is usually:

1. our name: Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Salem,
2. our address: 5090 Center Street NE, Salem OR 97317,
3. our phone number: 503-364-0932.

When sending the payment, be sure to note the purpose or the intended UUCS fund in the memo field. If no memo is provided, the donation will go to the UUCS general fund.

One-Time Donations via PayPal Giving Fund

PayPal recognizes that UUCS is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit which allows the church to receive donations through the PayPal Giving Fund. Using this method for donations is easy and it is free to you and to UUCS, so every given dollar goes to the church. However, to pay through the PayPal Giving Fund requires you to have a PayPal account.

PayPal Giving does not offer any option to specify that you have a preference about how your  donation should be used.  Therefore, donations via PayPal Giving will be applied as follows:  Donations from UUCS members will be applied towards the current year’s pledge.  Non-member and anonymous donations will be applied to the UUCS Share the Plate program which is split between UUCS and the current month’s local community organization.

One-Time Donations via Donate Now Button

You can make a one-time donation to UUCS for such things as Share the Plate, a special cause such as the Microfinance team, the Minister’s Discretionary fund or any other reason. If your intended purpose is not listed in the dropdown menu, select “Other – Please Specify”, and then click “Write a note” to specify your intended use. (See the image on the right.)

Donating money to UUCS using this approach allows you to easily specify a target fund and to donate without having a PayPal account. However, PayPal charges UUCS 2.2% for all money received through this PayPal page.
