The Lorax, by Dr. Seuss, is an environmental allegory that pits a rapacious forest-destroying “onceler” against a fuzzy little “lorax” who “speaks for the trees.” But the deeper significance of this parable like in the “Truffula Seed,” he offers at the end of the story–the seed of “unless”–conferring resolution and courage in the face of an uncertain and frightening future.
