Social Justice Team Nov. Meeting Date Change

The Social Justice Action Team meeting for November will be held on November 13 rather than November 20 due to team members volunteering in the KAIROS lunch. On November 13, the team will meet from 12:30 – 2:30 pm in Rev. Rick’s office.  All are welcome.

Supplies for Refugees

The UUCS  Social Justice in Action Team  joined Catholic Charities in April of 2016 to begin collecting supplies to help approximately 50 refugees who are settling in the Salem area. The incoming refugees are from multiple countries including Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Burma, and Syria. As part of the Marion-Polk Foodshare program, Meals on Wheels promotes the nutritional health, independence and social well-being of seniors and disabled adults in Salem and Keizer.
