Salem for Refugees is in place to help more than 100 local refugees fleeing persecution and conditions in war-torn countries such as Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Bhutan, Burma . Share the Plate Recipient for June 2017 is Mid-Valley Literacy Center

The mission of the Salem-based Mid-Valley Literacy Center is to empower adults with the literacy skills and other training to improve their economic stability. The center offers language classes, computer training and pre-CNA courses.  UUCS has a history of supporting the center.
