Tom Lancefield was acknowledged as a “Mighty Oak” during the April 30, 2023 service. Rev Rick noted his constant work on parking lot drains, and the gutters on our building almost since the new building was completed. He has also done “heavy lifting” on many other projects over many years.

The Mighty Oak plaque has previous recipients’ names on it, including George and Elsa Struble, and Jo Bateman, who were present to congratulate Tom after the service. The plaque states that “The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Salem thanks you for your loving care and enduring generosity. You will live in memory as a Mighty Oak.”
