WE DID IT!!
Lift Every Voice Oregon was SUCCESSFUL in getting the initiative on Gun Safety onto the November ballot!
This is great news! UUCS members actively participated in collecting signatures for this initiative. Thank you so much! There will be a strong effort led by Lift Every Voice Oregon to get this ballot measure passed in November. Let’s be ready to coordinate with Lift Every Voice Oregon and support this crucial safety measure. Our children are depending on us.

The measure will do three things:
1. Require a permit to purchase a weapon
2. Require passing a background check prior to getting the weapon. (closes the loopholes)
3. Ban future sales of magazines with more than 10 rounds. (meaning after 10 bullets are fired, a person would need to stop and reload the weapon.)
