‘Twas the Christmas Eve Rehearsal- Thanks to the Production Crew!

‘Twas The Christmas Eve Rehearsal,   with apologies to Rev. Clement Clarke Moore

‘Twas the week before Christmas Eve Service

and all through the Church,

not a creature was stirring,

not even those pesky sugar ants that show up every spring in Salem!  – Anyway, back to the story.

The Sanctuary was nestled all quiet for the night,

with a few decorations and a few more in sight.

When just around 6:00 (pm) there arose such a clatter- (I’m not going with the Santa Claus Movie ladder theory)

that neighbors peered out to see what was the matter.

The lights were all on at UUCS,

cars were arriving with people no less.

The Sunday Services Crew had come in with a bang.

There were Camera people, Sound, and Video too.

The Celebrant, Musicians, Director came too,

along with the Minister and DLRE.

They said not a word, but went straight to their work,

setting the lighting and sound checks just right.

They then took their time, and practiced their parts,

being mindful of sight lines and camera parts.

The most precious time was when they all stood,

while a recording of congregants lighting candles went by.

With that they were done, but before they could leave,

the minister stood, and shouted and thanked them and called them by name. (OK, you know Rev. Rick didn’t really shout, but just go with it)

Thank you Loriann, Jon C. and John P.,

Laura and Kit, Tom, Barbara and Gil.

Thank you Janet, and Lily, Sara and Cherie.

From the bottom of my heart I thank you tonight.

This will be a great service for all those to see.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

(And remember, if you miss the Live Stream at 7:00 pm on December 24, you can catch it later on YouTube)
