On November 12, 2023 our guest speaker will be Ron Hockley, Executive Director of the NEO Fund speaking on “Helping to Lift the Poorest Out of Poverty”. He will highlight our successes and challenges and how we, the UUCS Microfinance Team and the Neo Fund, have impacted the lives of the poor, especially in Nicaragua. Ron is a very dynamic and compelling speaker, and is focused on helping some of the most impoverished communities of the developing world.

Since 2008, our UUCS Congregation has been addressing global poverty one family at a time by establishing permanent revolving loan funds and making small loans to people living on the edge through our Microfinance Project. We have partnered with the non-profit NEO Fund to make small loans so people can earn a sustainable living which has resulted in the ability to improve their housing, lift their standard of living, and educate their children.
