UUCS will host a special tribute to Nelson Mandela on Tuesday, July 17, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. The event, “Mandela Fest: A Salem Salute,” will mark Mandela’s 100th birthday, and will include guest speakers, a film on Mandela’s life, and a potluck. All are welcome. Admission is free.

UUCS member Lee Coyne is helping to organize the event which the Social Justice in Action Team is sponsoring. Music includes vocalist Marilyn T. Keller and jazz pianist Laura Cunard. Other sponsors are the UN Association of Salem, the Oregon Assembly for Black Affairs and B Beautiful Children’s Foundation.
