The program features sixteenth and seventeenth-century vocal and instrumental music from Venice, including works by Andrea Gabrieli, Barbara Strozzi, and Francesco Cavalli.
The Western Oregon University Early Music Ensemble, directed by Dr. Dirk Freymuth. is a chamber group specializing in the music of the renaissance and baroque eras. The group is comprised of students from Western Oregon University, together with frequent guest appearances by professional musicians from around the region.
The mission of Cascadia Viols is to encourage the appreciation, study, and performance of the Viola da Gamba, and related music in Oregon and SW Washington.
