IMANI, our UUCS Microfinance partner organization in Kenya, reported that while the first harvest of maize was poor due to the drought, the rains arrived in time for the second harvest.
The women were all paid in flour and school fees for their children. Hunger is a huge issue for the villagers. As you can see, the crop was quite good and there are large ears of corn. Sadly, AIDS is devastating to Kenya and IMANI is very worried about proposed U.S. budget cuts for AIDS assistance.
