May’s Share the Plate recipient is HOME Youth & Resource Center in Salem, a drop-in spot for at-risk and homeless teens in Salem. There they can also get help and get access to resources. The region has no homeless youth shelter and the program addresses a critical need in our community.
Originally a grassroots organization of concerned adults and homeless youth, HOME is now part of the Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency.
On May 7 at both services Sarah White, the youth empowerment program coordinator will offer a few remarks about HOME and the needs of homeless teens in the community. Our Share the Plate program allows us to support organizations serving a community need.
