The UUCS Concerts in the Sanctuary present, The Songs of Civil Disobedience and Hope, Saturday January 28th at 7:00 pm. Come join us as we gather together in peaceful protest through music and song. Following in the footsteps of legendary songwriters and community activists like Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Peter Paul and Mary, and Bob Dylan, the Civil Disobedients invite the audience to sing along as well as listen to songs and stories about community issues from the environment to war to race relations.
Tickets are not required but there is a suggested donation of $8 to $10 at the door. Proceeds will go to benefit Congregations Helping People of Salem and the UUCS Music Fund.
The Civil Disobedients formed in 2013 with a vision of bringing people together in community through music to raise money and awareness about community issues. The six group members are Ryan Amend, Marcia Christenson, Tim Lewis, David Loney, Jana Loney, and Ron Relaford.
