The Social Justice in Action Team points out another way you can help the protesters at Standing Rock: Oregon Peaceworks and 350 Salem Oregon are holding a benefit concert 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Ike Box Café, 299 Cottage St., NE in Salem. The $10 charge will fund local people going to Standing Rock with skills, supplies, and equipment to help prepare for winter. This concert follows the Salem Speaks Up! Dec. 10 event so you won’t need to miss either one!

Our congregation was open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day to take donations of warm clothing, sleeping bags, hand warmers and other cold weather items for Standing Rock protesters fighting the Dakota Access Pipe Line crossing native lands in North Dakota. UUCS  members and others in the community donated and congregant Dana Brown and others helped organize this donation drive.
