Looking for gorgeous jewelry for gifts or yourself? Support our UUCS Microfinance project that benefits poor families in Africa and Nicaragua! We will be selling jewelry made by women in South Africa in partnership with Thembanathi and other items from Nicaragua following each service. Our share of the proceeds will benefit our projects in Nicaragua and Africa.
The October 9th service will focus on what we as a congregation are doing to address global poverty. Ron Hockley with the NEO Fund will talk about how their organization is helping poor families living in the slums of Nicaragua. Our new UUCS Microfinance project has formed a partnership with the NEO Fund to provide funding for community-based micro-lending. This allows families to earn a sustainable living and give them a boost out of poverty. The October Share-the-Plate will also benefit our UUCS Microfinance project.
