Experience the revitalizing and healing energy of music, spiritual song and movement under the trees at Bush Park on Thursday August 18, from 6 to 8 pm. This activity has four levels of participation. One can sit and enjoy the activity, sit and sing, sit and sing and participate in seated movement, or participate in group singing and movement. There will also be a post-event social time.
Many of the songs use chants, melodies, or sacred phrases from spiritual traditions around the world including indigenous and earth and nature-based spirituality. Movements are simple circle dance movements. All song and movements are fully taught and range from meditative to lively. Musical instruments welcome or just bring yourself. Extra percussion instruments available.
Please bring water bottle for personal hydration. It is optional to bring snacks/food to share during social time afterwards. Consider bringing a chair or layered clothing. Picnic tables are nearby and restrooms are available in park. Please note that this event is advertised in multiple venues, so the number attending in Meetup does not indicate the number of participants.. For more information on this type of song and movement, learn more about the Dances of Universal Peace at dancesofuniversalpeace.org
Parking will be near the Bush House via the entrance from High St. Meet close to the picnic tables just beyond the Bush Barn Art Center or down the hill towards the stadium, at picnic tables next to the soap box derby track, depending on space availability.
