Christmas Eve with UUCS – Lantern Walk and Live-Streamed Service

As we are not able to gather inside in person for Christmas Eve Service this year, consider joining us outdoors at the church on Christmas Eve from 4:30-5:30pm for the UUCS Lantern Walk. There will be a gift tree along the path, where you can leave an ornament that you brought and, and take one that has been left by someone else.

Then log into our live streaming service Christmas Eve at 7:00 pm, “For So the Angels Come.” (Sorry, only the production crew may enter the sanctuary).  Enjoy beautiful music, sharing the ancient biblical stories, and a homily from Rev Rick. This is a  night to turn our gaze heavenward that we might align our hearts with the higher purposes of Love. This link will be live at 7:00 pm December 24. The service will be ASL interpreted.

More info about the Lantern Walk: We will begin gather at 4pm. But you and friends and family may come at any time from 4:30 to 5:30, while the Path is open. Masks are mandatory. Line monitors will assure that everyone keeps a safe distance. The maximum number allowed on the Path at any given time will be limited to 50. Masks are mandatory, and there will be line monitors to assure that everyone is practicing safe social-distancing.

If possible, please bring a candle lit lantern from home. In order for the lantern walk to work well, we all should carry actual candles, not LED flashlights. UUCS will have some extra Mason Jar lanterns and votive candles on hand for use at the event.

As we walk together in quiet illuminated contemplation, the interdependent web of our offering, like light upon light, illuminates the path of healing, connectedness and comfort for ourselves, for our community, and for our hurting world.
