Rev. Dr. Todd Eklof Speaks at UUCS February 23

February 23rd Service: Rev. Todd Eklof is speaking on, A Gadfly in Salem: Why Oregon’s State Capital Needs UUCS.
Come hear Rev. Todd Eklof speak on the importance of having the presence and courage of members in UUCS during these times where our liberal religious values—reason, freedom of conscience, and our humanistic ethic—are being discarded by both sides of the ideological spectrum. A question and answer period will follow the service.

The Centering Thought for the February 23 service:

“Free choice is a principle without which religion, or society, or politics, cannot be liberal… These religious affirmations are thus the basis of the liberal’s belief that the method of free inquiry is the necessary condition for the fullest apprehension of either truth or justice, and also for the preservation of human dignity.” —James Luther Adams (On Being Human Religiously, Beacon Press, 1976)
