Slide Show “In the Footsteps of Jesus Christ” November 12

Dr. Pritam Rohila has been invited by Rev. Rick Davis to present a free slide show of his eight-day travels through Israel in December of 2006, when he visited many places associated with the life of Jesus. The event will be held at UUCS from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 12. He explains that he is not a Christian, but he respects all faith traditions and holds all great teachers in high esteem.  Dr. Rohila has been internationally recognized for his work for peace. More about Dr. Rohila here

The slide show includes Nazareth where Jesus spent his early childhood; Capernaum, the place he had selected for his public ministry; the Sea of Galilee around which he is believed to have performed some of his miracles; Cenacle on Mt. Zion, where he and his disciples had the Last Supper; Gethsemane at the foot of the Mount of Olives; where they spent the night after the Last Supper.

Then Dr. Rohila walked along the Via Dolorosa, the path through which Jesus carried the wooden cross all the way to the Golgotha Hill, the site of the crucifixion. Finally he visited the place on the other side of the Golgotha Hill, where some people believe Jesus was buried and which was the scene of the Resurrection. That is also the place where Dr. Rohila’s pocket was picked!

Dr. Rohila has been given several peace awards here in Salem, and also in India and Pakistan.
