A new committee, Habitat & Hope: A Salem, Oregon, Transitional Village has been formed under the umbrella of the Social Justice Action Team to address the problem of homelessness in Salem. We plan to work with the various churches, businesses and civic organizations in our area—including City of Salem—to purchase a piece of land and build a tiny house village that can provide transiional housing for the homeless in our area.

Though in the early stages of the project, we are encouraged that in just a little over a month we have succeeded in creating a workable design for the village, as well as exploring the necessary steps to make this dream a reality. Stay tuned for further information as we move ahead on this project.
