CHP Party and Board Meeting, April 12, 6:30 pm

The Board of CHP is inviting everyone to a party in celebration of Congregations Helping People, and their 10 years of helping community members in need. The date is Tuesday, April 12th at 6:30 p.m. in the FUMC dining room (600 State Street, Salem),

You can drop by or stay for the complete program. Meet our volunteers, clap for our successful grant submissions, review the decade through CHP’s growth and service numbers and just relax with more cake. Why just have a board meeting, when you can have a party with cake and shared memories with good friends who helped CHP reach this milestone?

UUCS was a founding member of Congregations Helping People and continues to support CHP to this day.  For those of you who may not know, CHP helps people in need in our community by connecting them to social services and by offering direct financial assistance.  CHP has helped thousands of local people financially over the years with Rent, Utilities, Gas Vouchers, IDs, Birth Certificates, Medial Prescriptions, Bus Passes, and more.  CHP tries hard to help people become self-sufficient and to keep people from becoming homeless

We hope to have a few of the founding board members present if they are available and we will definitely call the roll of those folks who had a dream of being able to offer help to those who came through the doors. That dream is a reality and, not to go all Disney on you, “a dream is a wish your heart makes”. Those big hearts dreamt big and today’s CHP is living evidence of those dreams.

Please come if you can, you will see familiar faces and meet a few new supporters. And there will be cake!
