With temperatures expected to fall well below freezing, the Community Action Agency is activating a Warming Center event to begin on Sunday, January 1st through Wednesday, January 4th (Shelter will be open 8:00 pm to 6:30 am for guests each night). We continue to monitor the forecast with local area emergency managers and may extend the activation if needed.The location for this event is at the old Oregon Department of Energy building at 625 Marion St NE, Salem OR 97301 (next to Cinebarre).
Volunteers are needed each night. There are three shifts per night. We are asking volunters to please register for shifts online at the link below:

Items are needed for the operation of the center. Please limit donations to just the following list:
• Clorox wipes
• Large black garbage bags
• Masking tape (3/4″ or more)
• Powdered creamer and sugar
• Bouillon
• Adult sizes only: Warm coats, gloves, knit caps, socks, jeans and sweatshirts
Donated items are tax deductible and can be brought to Community Action Agency Monday-Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm at 2475 Center St NE, Salem OR 97301.
